Coming Soon at Practice Space

Making-Thinking Classes

Weekly classes rooted in radical pedagogies from art and education, where children ages 7-14 learn to think like artists: experimenting, asking questions, and challenging assumptions with material, color, and the built environment.

Artist Collaborations

Thinking with others is important for us at Practice Space, so we will invite mid-career artists and thinkers from across the cultural fields to make new work, show existing work, lead workshops and ask site-specific questions.

We'll mark the passage of time together: through the day, the week, and the seasons.  Pick up a bouquet of flowers on the way home every Friday; join us for reflection and conversation at a monthly Pause; celebrate holidays in the shop and outdoors.

Open Studio

Social artmaking sessions for adults focused on intuition, color theory and material exploration - for your mind, your hands, and to share with friends.

Research + Documentation

We will experiment, take notes, draw diagrams, search through archives, collect objects, annotate maps, record interviews with both visiting artists and our neighbors.  What we and our collaborators produce will be shared with the public and archived at the Cambridge Public Library.

At our large table we will serve tea, share our collection of books, host informal critique sessions and parent-child story times, and facilitate a clothing swap, building a community of practice.
